As much as I love the world wide web and the amazing things you can do with a simple static design, my inspirations and thought processes die out here and there. I assume this happens in all fields creative. After exploring many css gallery sites, static print designs, or photographs, I often get bored with the same old static nature of the designs. I am guilty of encompassing much of my work in this realm. That’s why I need to make time for more Flash. Some of you are probably saying that Flash is bad, not SEO friendly, or you just have a stubborn old world mentality and you can’t and won’t open up, but flash is good. It is good for my creative process. Flash is my cinema for the web. Flash is what standard PHP, XHTML, CSS, etc. based sites are not. It’s ultra explosive beyond just the design. Again, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy and that you can have really explosive sites that aren’t Flash, and I agree. I’m just saying that without Flash I wouldn’t be able to imagine the things I do now. It allows an endless amount of possibility. It fully engages the user and allows them to become apart of the experience. So when I need inspiration for even a primarily static site, I will sometimes still get that inspiration from Flash based sites. The momentum Flash sites bring, runs through me and makes me want to create something different. Flash sites help me to look past the simple and the safe.

The FWA: Favourite Website Awards ( This site hosts the most amazing Flash based sites and will load as many on the screen at one time as the size of your monitor will allow )

And… Pretty Loaded ( I never would have thought that I would love to sit and watch a preloader load, but this is truly a mesmerizing and inspirational site that showcases preloaders. You may get sucked in forever if you’re not careful. It becomes addicting. )
