Blog - Praise Firefox!

As much as I despise IE6 and wish it would die, I will not bore you with yet another IE6 post. As web designers and web developers, we all know the issues with IE6. I have decided to give thanks to the many developers and engineers behind Firefox and it’s amazing addons. I know there are tons, but I would especially like to thank the developers of three specifically. For web development Firefox has been a godsend and has saved my ass many times with crunching deadlines as well as giving me quicker if not instant fixes. I have noticed some flaws in the various development stages of Firefox as far as timeouts and odd buggy things, but overall the Firefox team is trying to engage in modern times and allow the web developer to be at the top of his or her game. The main addition to Firefox I am grateful for is of course Firebug!

Next I want to thank Chris Pederick for the development of Web Developer! This is another great tool for Web Designers and Web Developers alike!

I would not say the next addon is as useful as the previous two, but being an extension to Firebug it sure does come in handy when you need to know the download times and performance stats telling you why your site is slow. Now that being said, it really isn’t easy getting a good grade with Y-Slow.
